“Next weekend we have 200 trees to plant on a dissused peice of land on Green Dragon Lane. We’ll be meeting on the land which is alongside Green Dragon Lane oposite Cornish House (one of the tower blocks) at 1pm Saturday and Sunday. The trees include Apple, Hazel, Elder and Blackthorn and our intention is to create a native British edible woodland in Brentford for future generations to enjoy. We have permision from Hounslow Homes who own the land, and support from the Woodland Trust who have supplied the trees, collars, stakes and instructions for planting. There will be plenty to do for young and old alike, and no experience of tree planting is necesary. It would be great if you are able to bring pick axes, spades, drinks and snacks,..either iether or. Work on the Kew Bridge development continues apace. Brentford Lubyanka aka Kew Bridge London is now being marketed on the interweb through their website at http://www.kew-bridge.co.uk.
This development is located in Brentford. The post code is TW8. The number of times the B word is used on their website? Zero. Zilch. Not a sausage.
They seem to be ashamed to be in Brentford. Presumably they feel that if they mention this then no one will buy.
This is an insult to the people of Brentford whom they are currently trying to charm with their plans to redevelop the Thameside Centre adjacent to the current development.
The words two-faced and hypocrites spring to mind.

At Brentford County Court today St Georges PLC were granted a possession order for the land at Kew Bridge and the Eco Village can be evicted after a minimum of 7 days. In the eleven months since the occupation began the ecovillagers have proved to be excellent neighbours to the local community, giving much and asking little, and have been impressive in their commitment to a way of life which embraces and celebrates both people and the world in which we live in a caring and spiritual way. You will be missed.
As a counterpoint it is interesting to note Andrew Dakers, whose prevarication was in large part responsible for this site being granted planning permission, failed in his attempt to become MP for Brentford & Isleworth and that the voters in Brentford ward of Hounslow Council decided to dispense with his services as their councillor. There will be a Court hearing next Friday the 7th of May in which the developers St George are seeking a possession order with a view to removing the ecovillagers from the development site at Kew Bridge Road.
This will take place at Brentford County Court from 1PM onwards.

On Friday 26th March St. George PLC met with representatives from Kew Bridge Eco-Village who were informed of plans to begin court proceedings and to start building work in May. A meeting will take place at the eco-village on Monday 29th March at 7pm to “share your ideas and discuss approaches to peaceful resistance”.

At the Hounslow Council Sustainable Development Committee held on Wednesday, 17 February 2010 the planning application by St George for the land at Kew Bridge was inexplicably approved.
Given that on the last occasion this application was before the SDC the consensus was to reject the application and only at the last minute was the decision deferred, and that no significant changes were made to the application which still fails to satisfy Hounslow’s own planning guidelines, how is it possible for approval to be given?
St George seem to have known the decision was going their way – they started works reinforcing the boundary fence several weeks ago.
Anyone care to spill the beans on what has been going on behind the scenes?
